Step 1: Get a medium or large mixing bowl and start whisking together the eggs, milk, sugar, cinnamon, and the vanilla extract until thoroughly mixed. Pour the mixture into a shallow dish – this is where you’ll soak your bread before frying it.
Step 2: Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a pan over medium-high heat.
Step 3: Dip each slice of bread in the egg mixture making sure both sides are properly soaked.
Step 4: Fry the slices for 2-3 minutes until golden brown and then flip to cook the other side.
