Step 2: Cook the pasta in a large pot of boiling salted water following the packet instructions.
Step 3: Meanwhile, heat the olive oil over medium heat in a large pan. Cut the bacon into small pieces and fry it for a couple of minutes until brown and crispy, adding the crushed garlic towards the end. Lower the heat and add in the cream. Once it starts bubbling add 2/3 of the grated cheese and stir until you have a smooth sauce. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
Step 4: Transfer everything to a large ovenproof dish and mix well. Top with cheese and breadcrumbs and bake in the oven for approximately 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
